I got a new puppy and could not have been happier with the care I received from Dr. Ertel. He is a consummate professional and I trust his skills and judgement in every case. The owner is courteous and friendly and his knowledge of animal care and training is encyclopedic. The technicians there are caring and really know how to handle the animals. I trust Bartow Animal Care Hospital with all 3 of my dogs and you should too.
Whoever the person at the front desk is (receptionist/owner/both?) is extremely rude and condescending. He also tries to examine animals on his own and give out medical advice when he is in no way qualified to do so. My wife brought our cat in and the vet was not in so the receptionist looked at her and said he thought she looked fine and it was probably a seizure due to old age. I brought her in the following week because she was progressively worsening and the vet was not in again (apparently he takes every Monday off which is very strange) and the receptionist tried to tell us our cat needed antibiotics right away and to take her to the other vet in town. We did take her to the other vet right away and it turns out she was in kidney failure due to her age and she ended up having to be put to sleep. The other vet's office was kind and compassionate and the vet was actually THERE during business hours. They have gained a loyal client and this place has lost one.
Love this place. I take all of my dogs here. The vet is awesome!
